AI safety at AcuPrep

AcuPrep AI Tutor is an AI study tool that can tutor and coach. It is not a person, teacher, counselor, doctor, or emergency service, and its answers can be incomplete or wrong.

If someone may be in danger

Do not rely on AcuPrep. In the United States, call 911 for immediate danger or call/text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. A student should also tell a trusted adult—such as a parent, guardian, school counselor, teacher, or coach—right away. AcuPrep does not continuously monitor conversations and cannot dispatch help.

What the AI is instructed to do

The tutor stays on SAT preparation, refuses requests to take graded work or a live test, avoids sexual or exploitative content, and pauses normal tutoring if a message suggests self-harm, suicide, abuse, exploitation, or immediate danger. It should give a short, supportive referral to real-world help rather than pretend to provide therapy. These safeguards reduce risk but are not perfect.

Healthy use

AcuPrep gives minors a break reminder after about three hours of continuous AI-tool use. The reminder repeats that the tutor is artificial intelligence, not a human. All students should take regular breaks, verify important explanations against reliable sources, and ask a trusted adult or teacher when something feels wrong.
